Bhutan officially known as the Kingdom of Bhutan is a landlocked country in South Asia. Located in the Eastern Himalayas, it is bordered by the Tibet Autonomous Region of China in the north, the Chumbi Valley of Tibet, China and the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal in the west, and the Indian states of Assam, West Bengal and Arunachal Pradesh in the south and east. THIMPHU - WANGDUE - PARO

Day 1 Arrival Paro - Thimphu (L/D)
  • Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by an English driver-guide.
  • Proceed to Paro town for lunch. After lunch, drive to Capital City, Thimphu. Visit Tashicho Dzong, is a Buddhist monastery and fortress on the northern edge of the city of Thimpu.
  • It has traditionally been the seat of the Dharma Raja, the head of Bhutan's civil government, an office which has been combined with the kingship since the creation of the monarchy in 1907, and summer capital of the country.
  • After dinner, transfer back to the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2 Thimphu - Wangdue Phodrang (B/L/D)
  • Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang). The largest statue in the country and take a glimpse of the valley.
  • Motithang Takin Preserve (Mini Zoo), you can see the national animal where these odd animals graze peacefully in a small protected park.
  • National Memorial Chorten, a stupa conceptualized by the Third King to ward off negative influences.
  • National Post Office, where you can spend only USD 7, to have your own photo for a set of stamps.
  • National School of Traditional Arts, where young monks learn the art of Buddhist Thangkha Painting; the workshops for mask making and fine metal craft, weaving, ceramics and paper.
  • Dochula pass where if the weather is good, you also can see "108 stupas".
  • After dinner, transfer back to the hotel in WangduePhodrang.
  • **National School of Traditional Arts temporarily closed during the winter period of 15 Dec - 15 Feb **

Day 3 Wangdue Phodrang - Paro (B/L/D)

  • Chimi Lhakhang, a temple built by Lam Drukpa Kuenley, the Divine Madman and renowned for blessing barren women with fertility.
  • Punakha Dzong, a massive structure built at the junction of two rivers. It was the capital of Bhutan until 1955 and still serves as the winter residence of the monk body.
    The first King, Ugyen Wangchuck was crowned here in 1907
  • Paro Town, Shop for local handicrafts, beautiful embroidery and weavings at Chencho handicrafts.
  • After dinner, transfer back to the hotel in Paro.


Day 4 Paro (B/L/D)
  • Taktsang, also known as Tiger's Nest, a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley.
    The hikes up to the viewpoint - monastery will take about 3 hours and from there you will enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the cliff. (Pony ride can be arranged *Optional*).
  • Kyichu Lhakhang was one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gembo. It is revered as one of the most holy shrines in Bhutan and embodies the arrival of Buddhism here.
  • Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), also known as fortress of the heap of jewels' which is the seat of the district administration and the residence of the monastic school.
    The dzong is famous for its wall murals depicting Buddhist parables, symbols and the lives of prominent saints.
  • After dinner, transfer back to the hotel in Paro.

Day 5 Depart Paro (B)
  • After breakfast, explore the city by your own. 
  • Assemble as per agreed schedule for transfer services to the airport, flight home.

Itinerary

  • By going private gives you the advantage of greater flexibility in pace and choice.
    You can spend a little more time at a particular landmark, add your favorite spot, or even skip one altogether. All are possibilities on our Private Tour!
  • Our tours are conducted in English by a local experienced tour guide. (As indicated in the itinerary)
  • The itinerary is for reference only and visiting sequence may be different, and is subject to any necessary changes in accordance with local operation requirements.

Accommodation 

  • You have a choice to select 3 star to 5 star hotels at the time of booking.
  • Your final hotel name and details will be provided 5 days prior to tour departure. In the unlikely event, the operator reserves the right to change the hotel of a similar class.
  • You must not exceed the maximum specified occupancy for the room type which you have booked. 

 The maximum occupancies are set out below. 

  • Twin / Double rooms: 2 Adults or 2 Adults + 1 Child No Bed 
  • Triple rooms : 3 Adults or 2 Adults + 1 Child With Bed ( For the extra bed hotel may arrange a couch type bed or a roll-away bed ) 

Transportation  

  • You will have your own dedicated Driver Guide or Local Guide with private transportation.
  • Maximum usage of the vehicle is 10 hours, a surcharge will apply for exceeding 10 hours usage. A surcharge of USD25 per hour, will be paid directly to the driver for the exceeding hour.
  • Tour will be operating by van or coach depends on the group size.

  • Each person with 1 piece of baggage. Each baggage must not exceed 81cm (H) x 119cm (W) x 119 cm (D).

  • Driver Guide will provide information on meal locations during the tour if the tour is not included a meal.

Extension

  • For extension of stay customer, departure airport transfer will be provided when the extension accommodation is booked through us.

Useful Local information

Airport Pick Up Information:

  • Arrival & departure airport transfers will be operating by private vehicle exclusively for your party with English Speaking guide.
  • Arrival - The local representative will be waiting at the meeting point holding a placard wait for you up to 1 hour 20 minutes from your flight landing time. If you are delayed, please message to driver or emergency contact person. A surcharge will be imposed.
  • Departure - The pick-up time is 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time. The pick-up information will be updated on the booking confirmation.

Tour Pick Up Information:  

  • The driver and guide will meet you at your hotel, please wait at the hotel lobby.
  • The driver and guide will accompany you on the tour and contact you to reconfirm the pick-up time and daily itinerary.

Guidelines During The Tour: 

  • You have to wait at the hotel lobby 10 minutes before pick up time.
  • The operator will not take responsibility if the attraction is closed due to maintenance or any other situation beyond the operators control. No refunds or reschedules will be issued in this case

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • All cancellation must be made in writing.

Before Date Of Departure:

  • 10% of total tour fare will be imposed for cancellation made 31 days and before prior to departure.
  • 50% of total tour fare will be imposed for cancellation made 30 days and beyond prior to departure.
  • 100% of total tour fare will be imposed for cancellation made less than 14 days prior to departure.

During The Tour:

  • There is no refund value for unused portions of tour and travel services.
